FAQ

  • Why is the wait so long before an available appointment?
    • Seattle Tailor currently consists of a part time sewer and a part time intern.  In order to keep the workload manageable, the calendar application only allows three intake appointments per week.
  • Can you make me a suit?
    • We primarily do alterations and repairs to existing work.  If you are having trouble finding a suit maker that fits your needs, feel free to email at seattletailor@gmail.com for a list of recommended businesses.
  • How do I know when my item is ready?
    • You will receive an automated email when your order is ready for pickup.  It will have a link to a separate schedule app which will allow you to make a pick-up appointment as soon as the next day.  You are welcome to bring new items for work to your pick-up appointment, which will be placed into the production queue immediately.
  • I have a lot of items that need to be worked on.  How many things can I bring to my appointment?
    • In order to keep work flowing smoothly, we ask that you bring six or less items to the appointment.  If you have more items than that, you are welcome to enter them as "batches" each time you come to pick up the previous batch of work completed.  This way, you won't have to wait a month for the next open drop-off appointment in my calendar - you can just keep coming back with more! 
  • How long will it take for you to finish my project?
    • The turnaround between when you have your first appointment and when your items are ready for pickup is usually 3-4 weeks, depending on workload conditions.
  • What if I need you to do something faster than that?
    • If you have a pressing deadline, you are welcome to email seattletailor@gmail.com.  There is a limited amount of space available for rush projects, which is filled based on need and on a first-come first-serve basis.  It doesn't hurt to ask.  In order to maintain equity between clients regardless of their economic situation, we do not charge or accept rush fees.
